ZIEGRA´s newest Ice Machine

allows the fisherman to produce the right type of ice for any application and at any time by one single machine.

He can have at his choice

Either     Fresh Water Ice
or           Salt Water Ice
or           liquid StreamIce

by only connecting fresh- or salt water to the machine and selecting the equivalent RPM for his type of ice.

The machine is based on the reliable Trawler
Ice-Machine Type TW used on board for over 20 years.


The water circuit is sealed, thus the continuous water supply into the ice-making cylinder allows a secure ice production even at roughest sea.

The ice maker is constructed to take the high load of hard fresh water ice. Therefore the machine easily copes with all different water types: fresh, brackish or salt water at varying salt content, without any problem.

Changing salt content influences only the hardness of the ice or the density of the liquid ice. This can be corrected, if need be, by varying the speed of the auger with the frequency transformer.

The production of hard or liquid ice begins about one minute after starting the machine. The ice is discharged directly into the ice store or fish hold.

ZIEGRA can supply or advice a storage or pump-system if required.

 

Fresh Water Ice

ZIEGRA Chip Ice from fresh water has the ideal temperature of -0,5°C. It is irregular and crystalline in  structure and thus stays loose and workable.

ZIEGRA Chip Ice never freezes together.
It is smooth to the fish and best for prolonged storage of high quality fish.

Salt Water Ice

The temperature of sea water ice is about -7° C.
It cools the fish quickly and intensively.
Due to its salt content, sea water ice is softer than fresh water ice and tends to freezing together even after only short storage.

 

StreamIce is a liquid ice

Made of salt water. Its temperature is about -2,3°C,
 it is pumpable and its density can be adjusted from 15 to 50%. The ZIEGRA ice cylinder "3 in 1" copes easily with varying salt content.
StreamIce cools big quantities of fish super-quickly. After use of StreamIce the machine can be switched over to produce either sea water ice or fresh water ice.

 

For trawler installation, Ziegra offers three types of ice machines:


UBE/SWE/SI 2.500-2 /3.000-2

UBE:  for production of Fresh Water Ice
SWE:  for production of both Fresh Water Ice and Sea Water Ice
SI:  for production of Fresh Water Ice, Sea Water Ice and StreamIce; this is our type "3 in 1"
All machines are available as 

compact selfcontained units

or as split units with remote condensing unit

or as an ice maker alone without condensing unit for 
             connection to an existing refrigeration system.
